The Community Environmental Council (CEC) has launched Solarize Santa Barbara to help make going solar simpler and more affordable for homeowners. Solarize Santa Barbara is a community-led group-purchasing program for residential solar electric systems available throughout Santa Barbara County through July 30, 2017. Two installers (Brighten Solar and Planet Solar) have been selected by a committee of local experts and are offering sizeable discounts on installs within the County. Previous CEC Solarize programs on the Central Coast have helped 524 homeowners go solar. To help homeowners better understand the process and benefit of going solar, as well as financing options, CEC is hosting free, educational workshops throughout Santa Barbara County. Join them in Goleta on Wednesday, June 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center, Room 1 (5679 Hollister Avenue). Learn more at www.cecsb.org/go-solar/solarize.
