The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, can be more easily reached by calling or texting 9-8-8, or chatting on 988lifeline.org. People throughout California can call 9-8-8 to receive emergency assistance when experiencing a mental health crisis. Calls are routed to the State’s suicide prevention call centers. These call centers can connect callers to emergency responders and local mental wellness resources, as needed. The State is currently working to enhance funding for the call centers to meet service needs and expand mobile crisis capabilities. Please tell your loved ones about 9-8-8. Click here to learn more.
